Fury (Plums)

by Christos Polydorou

Oh
sea
what can
we do
for thee
to shake out
your fury?
you are such
an over responsive
and under responsive
body of water.
your great mouth
doth speaketh
and when it speaketh
we are swept
under the covers
and the coverlets
of stars.

But please do not
no more ask for the sacrifices
of my muses, my sisters,
my brothers,
my otherwise, otherwhere darlings.

Forget the
past
oh

Sea

Shake out your fury
through me
even if it is not
even close
to enough.

What am I writing for?
Who am I writing to?

What is the purpose
of all of this?

Love.
Love.

Love.
