Note on poetic licence
by Christos Polydorou
Literary tradition creates authority, and authority creates poetic licence. If it has been done before, it is perfectly acceptable, but if it hasn’t, it will be perfectly acceptable in the future. The position of the artist, as it were, would be one of fluid time travel, a back and forth in time, for the sake of timelessness. The artist is both, in time, and apart. On the page. Real life calls for much more playfulness and far less strictness.
