Live

by Christos Polydorou

The teenage girls
are taller than me
where I live and the
trees are blinding,
the boys travel in
groups and sometimes
people sleep
on the streets
and there is a couple
on crack, you can tell
by how adolescent their
bodies are. Magpies
in the air, they sell
fried chicken
everywhere. The markets
sell rotten fruit,
gamey fish.
It is a copy of another
social scene.
It falls wrongly on you and you.
As for me I am completely
out of place. I have
realised this
and I am trying to make
some changes.
I am too bohemian,
or something. It is as if
I am a time traveller from
the past, sometimes. Or
the future.I have

realised this

and I am trying to make
some changes.
