Raindrops (σταγόνες βροχής)

by Christos Polydorou

I was taking a walk
to the park

to photograph
the autumn
leaves

turning
purple and golden,
when it started to
rain.

Now
I was not carrying
an umbrella
but I did have my

shopping bag,
and I admit
I was frustrated.

I rushed to the park,
upset

my earlier vision

and my expectations were
ruined, but then the rain
stopped

and the roses with
raindrops
looked like illuminated
manuscripts.
