Blessed / Hallowe’en

by Christos Polydorou

I am

deep,

like you,
deepest

at

the surface.
I am

heart,

head,
in old tree,

a monkey minus

man,
a burning

seraph,

with three
pairs of

wings,

and I am
demon

intertwined

like ivy
or vines

around

the bones
of a skeleton

hanging

in my closet.
I am the blood

dripping from all

your money.
I am tears

you shed in ecstasy

and relief.
I am

what

I am.
