Shades of desire (white)

by Christos Polydorou

I look beautiful tonight.
You have white-washed me like an old wall
and made me new. Oysters
came through for you. There were
many sides of you mostly impenetrable
but your enigma was a hook. I still dream
of sentences and rhymes, and
ways in which to say I am
always new
because of you.
Titanium, egg-shell, lustrous, pearl.
Am I a boy? Am I a girl?
You have white-washed me like
a renaissance fresco
και τωρα ειμαι
φρεσκο,
and now
I am fresh. A white on white
mesh.
