Every feeling is valid

by Christos Polydorou

Every feeling is valid. It is a question
of time, and place. For example
I’ve loved to have felt so helpless,
so hopeless, in the long strong arms
of beauty, personified, for a night,
at least with me, and a spell, deeply
cast, I become outnumbered, by desires,
different spheres, different fruit, all juicy,
fall from the trees, onto the ground, gather
them and eat every Parisian apple, gather
them and eat every London pear. Fruit,
fruitless, fruitful. Brimful, with fruit.
