The Italian word for Eye is Occhio
by Christos Polydorou
My art teacher caught me drawing once, unsupervised, and she asked me what I was drawing. I am drawing whatever is in my imagination, I replied, arrogantly. And you? I was her favourite. She said, Darling, but you need something to look at to draw. You cannot just stare into the infinite. She was right, and even though I was only twenty years old at the time, I told her she was right. She was right. An artist needs to be looking at something, to be drawing someone, or else it is all just nonsense.
