Ecstasy!

by Christos Polydorou

To be,
or not to be
outside. To be,
or not to be outside
oneself.

To be
one must not be,
i.e.:
one must stand, apart

from the within
we excavate for centuries oceans moons,
into pure
impenetrable
winter. Trapped in each frozen pear,
our souls,
separated from their hair. There are

so many beautiful
people out there as well,
it makes my soul
a dancer, guess where,

Why, in a painting
by Henri Matisse. Removed! Out of life,
into a picture in a museum!

Yes, you yeller, you weeper! The sky!
It’s so gorgeous! You! Yes, you! The removal

of you, from one
place, and placed

elsewhere,
contemporary

and contemporaneous,
likeΒ Pythagoras,

and Buddha! You!
Ecstatic!

Forget
the mundane. Forget
being bored. Forget
not being…

To be!
