Buffalo!

by Christos Polydorou

20160412_153308.jpgYou found me,
it was on

an another planet,
just there. You said

you liked the colour
of my hair,

the way I tore
your shirt open, all the

tiny white
buttons flying

across the wooden floors.
Lovers, mistresses, boyfriends,

whores, do not
matter anymore,

you know,
when you are running

with such a buffalo,
rivers thrusting

from his
soul! Dionysius in him

and the weeping
fir tree!

Made me
want to be bigger.

Better.
More!

Buffalo was cautious
respectful,

thoughtful,
intelligent,

and strong
as a buffalo.

It hurts
like a mistake

to watch this one
crash through the gates.

But I found him
here this way

running in circles in this
farm. Buffalo

broke my heart,
broke my legs,

Buffalo broke
my arms!

But I felt
alive!
