Good Magnolia

by Christos Polydorou

This is a blossom of a magnolia tree I photographed last year in Greenwich Park. I remember seeing the tree from some distance, it taking my breath away, and then cautiously standing under it, to take some pictures. When I later saw the photograph I was startled at how birdlike the magnolia blossom looked, and began to think about other such instances of overlap, and am still astonished to discover how omnipresent these overlaps actually are.
